With his new film "Lone Survivor" slated to hit theaters on January 10th, Mark Wahlberg pitched in on promotions by covering the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
During his interview with the publication, the 42-year-old actor chatted about chatted about his dark past and even discussed the feud between he and his "The Departed" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

On his time Boston's Deer Island House of Correction:
"I'd been in there 45 minutes and I was already in a fight with two guys who were trying to jump me and take my cigarettes and the lighter my mother gave me. It was like, 'This is not what I want to do with my life.' There was that wake-up call, but there was also the desire to have things that I didn't have."
On Leo:
"[While appearing opposite of him in 'The Basketball Diaries'] Leonardo was like, 'Over my dead f***ing body. Marky Mark's not going to be in this f***ing movie.' Because we had a thing - I didn't even realize it, [but] I was a bit of a d*** to him at a charity basketball game. So he was like, 'This f***ing a**hole is not going to be in this movie. So I come in and I do the audition and I kind of look at him and kind of looks me, and then we do a scene, and they're like, 'Hmmm, this f***ing dude's pretty good right?' Next time you know, boom, we're hanging out."
On his work with military soldiers in "Lone Survivor":
"I was tired after 'Pain & Gain,' losing the weight, gaining the weight, and then we went right into [this]. And this is not like, 'Hey guys, I'm going to get a coffee.' No. You're there. You're following orders. I mean, the [military advisers] literally had the OK in the middle of a big action sequence to say, 'Cut! Stop! Bulls**t! This is how it's supposed to look." I have three herniated disks. I'm not in pain anymore. I've been able to repair them through corrective exercises."
